چکیده
The purpose of the present study was to compare the infl uence of diazepam on diff erent forms of rabbits’ behaviour under stress and spontaneodial hypothalamic nucleus, escape reactionus conditions. The experimental model of a stress situation was induced by electrical stimulation of the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus. Diazepam was injected intravenously at a dose of 1mg/kg 40 min before the behaviour recording. Diazepam reduced the tension phase and orientation-searching reactions, and prolonged the comfort phase in both situations. Grooming was not infl uenced by diazepam, but eating and drinking were inhibited. Only the reduction in food intake in normal conditions was a statistically signifi cant change.

The aim of the present study was to compare the influence of diazepam and new benzodiazepine derivative BD1158 on different forms of rabbits’ behaviour after ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus (Vmh) stimulation. The experiments were performed in 2 groups of animals. In the first group, diazepam was injected intravenously at a dose of 1 mg/kg. In the second group, BD-1158 was administered intrape...

The present study was carried out to explore the possible involvement of the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus in the inhibitory descending pain control system associated with the tail flick test and EEG recordings. Adult male (NMRI) albino rats weighing 200 ± 20 g were used. Rats were divided into three groups: experimental, sham and control. The arcuate nucleus was destroyed unilaterally ...
متن کاملAnalgesic effect of electrical stimulation and microinjection of L-glutamate into the paragigantocellularis nucleus on phasic and tonic pain
The paragigantocellularis (PGi) nucleus constitutes a large portion of the ventral pontomedullary reticular formation. Neurons within the PGi have been implicated in a variety of functions including cardiovascular regulation, respiratory control, pain and analgesia. Investigators have demonstrated that electrical stimulation and microinjection of L-glutamate into the PGi produce antinocicepti...

This study aims at investigation of stimulation by using intra-spinal signals decoded from electrocorticography (ECoG) assessments to restore the movements of the leg in an animal model of spinal cord injury (SCI). The present work comprised of three steps. First, ECoG signals and the associated leg joint changes (hip, knee, and ankle) in sedated healthy rabbits were recorded in different trial...
متن کاملEffect of Electrical Stimulation and Lesion of Nucleus Accumbens on EEG of Intact and Addicted Rats
Introduction: The nucleus accumbens is involved in various functions ranging from motivation and reward to feeding and drug addiction. Some researchers have also suggested that this region has some roles in consciousness. In the present study, the effect of electrical stimulation and lesion of nucleus accumbens on Electroencephalogram waves (EEG) of addict and non-addict rats was investigated. ...
